Happiness Is Painful: Here Are 3 Ways To Eliminate Agony

Happiness is so painful, it really is. When you can’t find it, you can’t experience it, and when you can’t experience it, you think your life will never be what you want it to be.

Especially when you don’t get that promotion or raise you deserve, are searching for love in a relationship that you can’t find, or you’re short of finances to pay those upcoming bills.

Nothing seems to be going right and never will. This is when you start to lose hope.

Doubt and feelings of overwhelm start to creep in, making life really hard to cope with. You know exactly what I’m talking about–we all feel it in our lives at one time or another!

And so, your life ends up being like a runaway stagecoach drawn by a team of frightened horses running out of control. The fear and uncertainty run rampant throughout your mind. They grip every part of your being all at once and won’t let go.

The good news is there are simple techniques to unlocking the door to happiness forever. You can use them to grab the reins of this runaway stagecoach and regain full control over your life (at least on a personal level).

I said “simple techniques,” but they’re not easy due to the fact they induce change–something our minds are literally rigged to react negatively to. But there’s one thing you need to remember always: change is inevitable. Nothing stays the same.

It’s a universal law that everything changes every second and you are making changes every second of the day even while you sleep.

Every second of your life you change emotionally, physically, or spiritually. Whether you want to or not.

So, you’ve changed a minimum of 86,400 times a day. Quite a few times doing something your mind tells you you’re uncomfortable with.

Your mind doesn’t trigger fear and doubt during the majority of these changing moments because the subconscious is performing them, well, unconsciously. It’s a habit.

The mind is a weird bird. It’s programmed to keep you safe and to help in your survival in this physical world. However, it’s incapable of distinguishing between the real and the imaginary, making it quite confusing.

The best thing to do is wake up your senses, energize your thoughts before you make a change, and you’ll find life to be much happier.

Here are a few proven happiness techniques to alter your response to change and help you continue to master, direct, and create positive change in your life.

Technique #1 – Question and Think Again

The very first is for you to learn how to monitor your thoughts; to actually think about what you are thinking about at the moment.

When you find yourself thinking about all the horrific, negative scenarios the mind conjures up — the thoughts that neutralize everything good and your highest happy idea about a situation, thing, or whatever–question and think again!

Is this really affecting me the way I think it is?

I literally want you to do what I’m suggesting here. If your thoughts are stuck in a hopelessness, doubting, or no-good-can-come-of-this, mode, question and think again.

If you think the world has gone to pot and there is nothing you can do about it because of all the chaos, question and think again.

If you think you have no future, that everything is falling apart, and you’re sure you’ll never get it back together again, question and think again.

Keep questioning your thoughts and think again until you start to sense the positive change to these thoughts. The positive will come because every second your life starts anew. Every second.

Although not necessarily easy, this is a simple technique to begin with, that you can train yourself to do.

(Look how well you’ve trained yourself not to think happy and positive!)

Technique #2 – Pay Attention and Listen To Your Energy – Catch The Vibes

Positive as well as negative energies are flowing all around you every moment of your life. Everything we know in the world around us is made up of energy including you.

Everything!

Therefore, we are all the same, but we are not.

We are all the same energy but with uniquely different physical characteristics.

When you understand this, you start to understand life and how to live it in the happiness mode.

Start working on recognizing these powerful vibrations of the universe that present themselves to you. You receive these energy vibrations from the ether by seeing them, by hearing them, and by feeling them.

So, watch the energies that are visible all around you. Take time to listen to the energies. Sense, feel, engulf the energies’ loving arms.

Pay attention to the outer experience you’re having and pay attention to your inner experience as well. Make sure you are in resonance with all the people, places, and things around you.

Now, take the time to listen for a moment. Listening is a lost art that needs to rediscover in your life because it makes the people around you happy by just listening to them.

Do you not understand that you can make yourself happy by simply listening to others?

Listening is one of the richest ways of loving and making love. It is rich with happiness, rich with joy; rich with fulfillment.

Absorb everything that is happening in your space letting it soak in. Then, see if it agrees with who you are and if it matches, cling to it. Slip out of the space if there is a mismatch and it doesn’t agree.

What I am saying here is that Feeling is the language of the soul.

You need to pay attention to all of life’s energies. Remember you are always receiving, and you are always sending these energy vibrations. So, doesn’t it seem wise to take time to make sure the energies you’re sending out are resonating with the energies you are receiving?

Happiness is one of the highest states of resonance.

This is an exciting fact because this means that happiness is not something that you earn by accomplishment, or find in the attic, but something that you can create.

Happiness is truly in your hands or in you creating a resonance between the inside of you and the outside of you.

Continually pay close attention to all the energies that you encounter or come within your space. Catch the vibes, and if you feel it resonates with Who You Are and Who You Choose to Be, by all means, join with it and co-create happiness together.

But if on the other hand, you feel the energy and the vibe you are feeling are not in sync with Who You Are and Who You Choose to Be, distance yourself from it or the event.

Now when you remove yourself from something or someone that are not in sync don’t be inconsiderate, rude, or judgmental; be gentle, be sweet, be kind. But on the other hand, don’t change your mind either and hang around with the idea, “Oh, well, I can put up with this.”

If you do this, you are hurting or causing friction because if it’s another individual, they feel the same in most instances.

Paying attention and listening to the energies and the vibes of life more closely may cause you to change your diet and health, your reading habits, what you watch on television and at the movies, what you wear, the way you talk, and may even change the company you keep.

You need to welcome these changes. They are the starting point, the beginning steps on the journey to continuous happiness.

Technique #3 – Smile and Let the Sunshine In

This is the last of the three most awesome generators of happiness but is not the least of them, I assure you.

A simple smile is by far the most powerful tool the human species possess to create happiness in life, and the craziest thing about it is it doesn’t have to be genuine; a fake smile works just as well.

Science says it’s all in your muscles. Facial muscles that is. When your facial muscles turn upward to form a smile they trigger the release of four chemicals in the brain known as the happy chemicals.

But we know them as endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin.

Endorphins

Science says they are opioid neuropeptides. They are created by the central nervous system when we are physically injured to help us deal with pain.

But the thing to know here is that exercising will produce these same endorphins throughout our body. So, you don’t have to break a leg to get that fantastic feeling and the same results.

Serotonin

Serotonin is probably the best of the best known of the four happy chemicals because it’s a natural antidepressant that your body produces.

Serotonin is a neurochemical that is triggered by sunlight among other things we do on a regular basis each day. Like taking a casual walk to stretch our legs or any exercises one may be engaging in for health purposes.

We don’t want to forget that happy thoughts also play a factor in stimulating the production of this unique happiness chemical.

Dopamine

Dopamine has to do with rewards. Yeah, when you win a game, hit a small or large target in life, or accomplish any goal you set, you receive a needle-free shot of dopamine in your brain. It tells you you’ve done a great job.

You can perform an act of kindness towards others and get a natural dose of dopamine. Volunteering has also been shown to increase dopamine as well as have other long-term health benefits.

Research suggests that just thoughts of loving kindness without any physical actions can create a dopamine high.

Oxytocin

Oxytocin is primarily associated with loving, touching, having close contact, or intimate contact in a relationship.

You get a double whammy from this chemical during contact with another human being. Likewise, you can get the same reaction from touching and holding a loving pet.

The reason for the double whammy is that it stimulates dopamine and serotonin, plus it reduces anxiety. So, to get a hit of oxytocin, give someone a big ole loving hug.

These are just a few of the ways to release your four happiness chemicals and get those wonderful fuzzy feelings. What is amazing is they also counteract negative thoughts.

When negativity clamps onto your thoughts like a great white shark that refuses to let go, SMILE and think of someone or something you love for one to two minutes. You’ll be amazed how fast that fear, worry, doubt, or anxiety will disappear.

I have a suggestion: make it a practice to intentionally smile at least 10 times a day.

Something to Think About

Your happiness is in your own hands, and you don’t have to live a life in chaos. You have the power to be whatever you choose to be. I invite you to join me on this exciting journey into the realm of happiness.

It is said that the Eyes are the Window to the Soul. If true, then a Smile is a Door to a Happy Heart.
